This is one of those dishes that reminds me of my childhood. My grandma used to make this very often, especially during winter, and we all enjoyed it. Kids were particularly interested: eating corn with a spoon was somehow funny and amusing! She would choose this dessert whenever there were lots of people to be served, and with a reason - the recipe is quite inexpensive (especially if you have produced most of the ingredients, as they had), and very generous - and all that without spending hours beside the oven! It's true it asks for some more time to cook, but the good thing is that you put all the ingredients into the pot at once, and just forget about it until it's done! I mean, "forget" as being able to do something else meanwhile, not ignore it completely... That smell during cooking was so pleasant and appealing, that it was impossible to forget you'll enjoy in your dessert a few moments later! :) I recall those moments when we were playing outside in the snow and we would enter inside for a while only to dry our clothes, we could feel that wonderful smell right from the door, and we would shout cheerfully: "Grains! Hooray!"
And what could I say about the flavor? Well it's creamy, buttery and crunchy at the same time! Pleasantly sugary by itself, and sweetened additionally to taste. Low-calorie, if you mind! A must-try, if you ask! :)
And this is what you'll need:

Directions:
- Wash and rinse wheat well. Put it into a pot and add cold water just enough to cover it. Bring it to a boil, and then pour away the water. This will help to remove any possible dirt.
- Now, put drained wheat back into the pot, add corn kernels and approx. 1,5 l of cold water. Bring it to boiling again, then reduce the fire to low and simmer uncovered until grains are completely soft. At this point, there should be just a little bit of liquid left.
Of course, you can add some more water during cooking, if necessary.
- Note that some types of corn kernels may fall apart by the time they're cooked, as field corn, for instance. But this is not a problem at all - in fact, it's preferable.
Scoop some grains and a bit of the liquid into a small bowl and add some sugar to taste into each portion. Serve warm.
Once cooled, store into the fridge for up to 2 days.
Enjoy and bon appétit!
