- 1 kg potatoes
- 2 medium-sized onions
- 50 ml oil
- to taste vinegar
- to taste salt and pepper
Directions:
- Wash the potatoes well and scrub all of the dirt. Transfer them into a suitable saucepan and cover with cold water. Make sure water is 3-5 cm above potatoes. Bring to a boil over high heat, and then reduce to a simmer. Cook for approx. 10-15 minutes, until tender. Poke the potatoes with a fork or a knife - if it slides easily all the way to the center, they're done.
Drain the potatoes, let them cool for a minute or two and then peel them. Cut into bite-sized pieces and put them into a bowl
It would be the best if potatoes are boiled wholes, with the skin on, if possible. Anyway, you can peel and dice them first and then boil them. It's your choice. But note that if cooked wholes, potatoes should be roughly the same size so that they can cook evenly.
2. Roughly chop the onions and add them into the bowl. Add oil, some salt and vinegar. Combine. It is important that you add onions and oil when potatoes are still hot. This will make them absorb the other ingredients' flavors better. |
