Prepare the following ingredients:

1. First, cut the pork into bite-sized pieces.
Cover the bowl with a foil and let it stand in the fridge for a few hours. As for any other marinade, the same rule is applied here as well: the longer it stands, the better it tastes! However, if you don't have that much time to wait, leave it just a half an hour and proceed to the next step.
3. Meanwhile, prepare your side dish. I regularly serve this soy sauce pork with cooked rice and blanched vegetables, usually peas, carrots and corn, but you can choose another meal if you wish. For example, cooked pasta or some unspiced roasted or cooked potatoes, even mashed potatoes can do the job excellently. Also, you can choose different vegetables.
4. Pour 1 tablespoon oil into a frying pan. If you're using a nonstick pan, there is no need of oil at all.
Add meat with the marinade and star heating the pan over medium heat. At this point you can add some sesame seeds (1-2 tablespoons), if you like them. Cook stirring occasionally until meat is soft and tender. At the end, you should have left some liquid from the marinade.

5. Combine water and cornstarch and then add soy sauce. Add this mixture into the meat after it's fully cooked. Cook for an additional minute or two, until you get the thickness you like.
Serve warm with the side dish you chose. The sauce shown in the first photo below is runnier, while the one on the second picture is thicker and more consistent. |

Enjoy and bon appétit!
