Strange salad with a strange name. That was the first comment of everyone who tried this salad for the first time. But once they tasted it, everyone was delighted!
Let me say a few words to make clear those two "strange" things I mentioned above.
The salad is strange 'cause it looks nothing like a salad. It's more like a soup, as it's liquid and can be eaten only with a spoon.
Then, why it's not called a soup, one would ask. Well, a soup can be a meal itself, and this salad cannot. It is always served as a side dish.
And why "Farm Hand's"? For the reason that a long time ago, it was served at lunchtime (almost exclusively) to the farm laborers in the Balkans. The recipe is very much inexpensive and generous, which was good if you needed to feed lots of people with a little money. And it is so refreshing, so healing, it will fill you with energy almost with the first bite... i mean, the first sip. After hours of back-breaking labor in the field under the burning sun, this farm hands needed something to revive them and to recoup their strength until the end of the day. And this salad could provide that for them almost instantaneously.
We are not farm hands, however we still need something revivifying. So, before I finally get to the recipe, I will just mention that the recipe is absolutely no time-consuming: the salad is ready in less than 5 minutes!

And this is what you'll need:
|
- Chop garlic very finely, or even better - turn it into foamy mush using a pestle.
- Peel the cucumber and cut it into small dices (approx. 5x5 mm).
Serve cold (I mean, do not let it become too warm), as coldness is one of its key features.
This time, I served it with some cool breaded crepes (recipe to follow soon). Notes:

Enjoy and bon appétit!
