The mixture is quite firm, especially after spending a couple of minutes into the fridge, so you can build your cake in the height you want, without having fear that it will fall down. Of course, the mixture can be shaped into "regular" cake as well when you need something quick and easy for dessert.
As I said, this mixture is chocolate-flavored with a dash of nuts and fruit, but I will soon post some other, different-flavored mixtures for 3D cakes. Let's now see what are the ingredients needed for this one!
- 1 kg butter biscuits
- 200 g jaffa cakes
- 200 g walnuts
- 250 g sugar
- 600 ml milk
- 60 g chocolate-flavored pudding powder
- 200 g chocolate
- 250 g butter
- Finely mince half of the butter biscuits, and roughly crush the other half. Chop the jaffa cakes into quarters. Roughly chop the walnuts. Combine those ingredients into a big bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine pudding powder and 200 ml of milk.
- Put sugar into a small deep pot and start heating it over medium fire. Let it melt completely, shaking the pot occasionally, until you get a dark yellow caramel. Now add the remaining 400 ml of milk and continue cooking over medium fire, stirring occasionally, until caramel melts completely.
Be careful when pouring in the milk as will sizzle quite a lot.

4. When the caramel milk has came to a boil, add the pudding mixture and cook stirring constantly until it thickens. Remove from fire, add chopped butter (room temperature) and crushed chocolate, and stir until everything has melted and the mixture is homogenized.
5. Pour the hot pudding into the biscuits mixture from step 1 and combine until homogenized. The best way is to do it with your hands. Don't worry, it cools fast. |
This time I used this mixture to make a regular rectangular cake that I covered with a thin layer of whipped cream, then I put some bananas and jelly and coated it with melted chocolate.
