Before I proceed with the ingredients list and the recipe, I shall say I cooked the beans myself, as I find them much tastier that way (though it's way slower), but it's OK to use canned beans for this recipe if you want to speed up the preparation...
And you'll need:

- Wash the beans well, put them in a pot, cover with cold water and cook them until soft and tender. Make sure the beans stay wholes. Drain them, but keep the water they cooked in.
- Meanwhile, finely chop onions, mince the garlic and dice the bell pepper. Slice/dice sausages or meat, if using any.
3. Heat the oil over medium fire and add onions. Cook until soft and tender. Add peppers and sausages/meat and cook for a couple more minutes. Then, stir in garlic and let it release its aroma.
Add drained beans, pepper spread and tomato sauce and stir well. Spice with the seasonings listed, pour in 150 ml of hot water (you saved from the beans), and simmer for 4-5 minutes. |
