As for this pie, it's the best to use fresh figs, as they will give the pie irresistible, full aroma and flavor, but if it's not the season for fresh figs, canned ones will do the job excellently. And by canned figs I mean fig preserves, fig compote or classic canned figs in light syrup.
And this is what you'll need to make 1 roulade of this Greek Figs Pie, which makes approx. 3 servings:

- Chop the figs and combine them with sugar and breadcrumbs. You can add more or less sugar, depending on the sweetness of the figs and your taste. Set aside.
Note that if you're using canned figs, especially fig preserves, you may need far less sugar, or even no sugar at all. - In a separate bowl, beat egg with a hand mixer. Add yogurt and oil and mix.
Combine flour and baking powder and add it to the egg mixture. Mix until smooth and homogenized. You should get a thick batter. Separate 1 tablespoon of the mixture and divide the remaining into 3 equal parts. - Now, take the first filo sheet and brush it with the first third of the batter.
Cover with the second sheet and brush with the second third of the batter.
Repeat the procedure with the third sheet and the third part of the batter.
Cover with the last, fourth filo sheet and sprinkle it with the pre-prepared figs. - Make a loose roulade starting from the shorter side. Put the roulade into a baking pan covered with some parchment paper and brush it with the batter you set aside at the beginning.
- Bake into a preheated oven at 200°C for approx. 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Take the pie out from the oven and let it cool completely. Then cut it into pieces and serve it plain or sprinkled with some powdered sugar. And enjoy its aroma and taste!
Bon appétit!
